The Halo 3 For PC Rant
Microsoft wants to take over big magazines and rename them "games for Windows". Microsoft want this "Vista Gaming" thing to take off to drive sales of their defunct OS that F******s everything up from IE to resource utilization. Microsoft wants to capitalize on the PC gaming community the same way that it did in the operating system market. By simply taking it over.
Microsoft controls the platform and they know it thus they are strong-arming both developers and gamers alike with their hostile bid to become a gaming powerhouse. If developers don't conform and shut up they get cut out of the "vista gaming" picture. If gamers want to play the new games they will be forced to buy Vista regardless of how bad it sux.
PC gamers have always been a "down with the man" type of crowd.....let's not change for Microsoft. There are a million developers out there putting out incredible titles all over the place and if Microsoft wants to cut me out of the Halo 3 (by releasing for XBOX) and Halo 2 (by releasing as a Vista exclusive game) picture because I refuse to upgrade to Vista (which I use on my business computer and hate with all sorts of passions) or play it on a console. Trust me it's no big deal to make a game compatible with both XP and Vista or release versions for both...everyone else in the world has to make sure that their game is playable on XP why shouldn't Microsoft.
Bottom line: If they screw PC gamers over on this title then I won't be playing and that's that. I'm not upgrading to Vista until it works properly and I'm sure as hell not buying a console to play what could potentially be one of the best all time PC shooters...what a waste.

I've been playing on this old DELL computer waiting for Halo 2 to come out to get a new system. By the time it actually came out Halo 3 was almost here so I waited hoping that MS would do a simultaneous release.
Big surprise nothing for the PC, as said in the original topic MS seriously is being greedy. If they want more sales #1 produce quality products not crappy OS's that are worse that Windows 95 and #2 do simultaneous releases for big items. If they'd done those things the 1st night of sales for Halo 3 would have been gone, there wouldn't be any, anywhere.
Just my 2 cents, get it together MS, if you can't do it right why do it at all.

UR ALL A BUNCH OF RETARDS....first of...VISTA WORKS FINE...dont go on that vista is shit and all this crap....ITS THE DAMN VISTA DRIVERS....if u have a problem with low FPS go to NVIDIA AND COMPLAIN TO THEM...or if u have a much worse AMD/ATI graphics card(exluding the HD 2900 XT) coss its a good card....comlain to the companies that make the hardware that doesnt work well with vista....im sick of hearing idiots that know nothing about operating systems or the systems hardware...and learn or there crap from media noobs that also have no idea wtf they are talking about....another thing...if u have 64bit vista GET 64BIT PROGRAMS TO RUN ON IT...its not rocket science there computers....on prety much any site that has a virus scaner to drivers....ITS GOT 64BIT VISTA OPTION get over all this crap that vista is shit and stop being arrogant little shits.

another thing why use vista if u hate it so much....and another thing....obviously the reason they release tittles onto consoles first is because they are a bigger market...and by only releasing on consoles it forces pc owners like us to get those consoles even tho we dont want one....its a sooner or later thing...once they know everyone has pumped there money into buying a console nd the game they want on pc, they then release it on pc....its a marketing strategie not greedy and its not sad, if u were CEO of ms u would do the same....ITS CALLED PROFIT....they arnt the biggest software company in the world for no reason.

vista has been working just fine for many months now.. all drivers for all my hardware/software flawless....
i dual boot xp/vista, but for about 5 months i have no more reason to ever choose "xp" on startup anymore! seriously, upgrade.

The xbox360 is the worst system in the whole world. They should call it a breakdown360 b/c it breaks down so much it has nice games but the hardware is shit microsoft is cheap just like wats happening with vista but then again y does bill gates care hes rich-b1tch

vista is not compatible with MANY PROGRAMS it sucks i got GTA san andreas if i got vista i wouldnt be able to play that online and then a whole bunch of other old games i liked would not be able 2 be used on it

You know what, I realy like the Vista too and there is not a major problem in it. you guys should get one. I recomend it. You can also make older programs run on a Vista IF you know how to.I run programs on mine that run on a Windows 95. They are not shit:I have owned one for about a year now, and they are just great! Love it. Way better than the XP. As for Halo 3, yes, I am also waiting for it's realease. But what can we do? Bitching about it isn't going to help. All we can realy do is wait. I do hope Microsoft will realeas the game soon though. Just relax and play Halo or Halo 2 for now.

First of all, papa was not right in his rant and as a programmer I know for a fact that vista is crap. It has gotten better and is more managable but still neads some work. In general it is huge!!! It is is an operating system, not a game in itself. It shouldnt bother with all the eye candy and just be a good system. Halo is great and should be realesed for xp. That however would contradicts with the new idea of making money by not selling xp and only vista. They are gready and are trying to get people to agree with them that they are the right people to obey. Read the giant agreements page when you install it and you will crap yourself at what all is in there.

Vista sucks no other way to say it. Yes it is shinny but under the shiny tin foil you find dog crap not your everyday candy bar. Microsoft just wants money and even if everyone who played halo did not but vista they would still make money so we should just wait about 2 years for it to come out on pc then hack it for xp.

I have had windows vista for 4 months now and see no problem with it. all of you are just complaining cause you don't want to spend money to upgrade. although, for ms to forget about xbox and stick with games for windows would be just plain stupid
