According to the official release there are 20,000 entries in the new Lord Book an it is designed to become the LOTRO resource online. The current version has every quest, NPC, item, creature class and race in the game.

The coolest thing about the Lore Book is the upcoming version that will be integrated with the player accounts to allow individual players contribute to the future Lore of the game. They say players will be able to annotate and create tips, strategies, and backstories.

Being the constant cynic I see this as the a good marketing move and an entrance into the "fansite" arena. These guys are after the traffic and the ability to control the resources that players have come to expect from third parties. I don't think official resources can ever replace the 3rd party fansites but publishers and developers can takeover the "database" market pretty easily in my opinion.

Nice addition from a great team that has proven that LOTRO is a force to be reckoned with.
