Crysis - The New EA FPS With The CryENGINE 2 Engine

As a norm I always have an FPS, an RTS, and  a MMORPG of some kind as staples. The 2 new shooters coming out that I have been anticipating are Crysis and Quake Wars Enemy Territory. In this one I'll go over Crysis and give my thoughts on the new FPS from EA. There will be two follow up articles; one covering Quake Wars Enemy Territory and one comparing the two titles.

The Goods on Crysis

The ability to operate a variety of land, air, and sea vehicles such as helicopters, tanks, bots, and trucks is a huge feature for me. I am of the Battlefield franchise fanboi club so I love being able to control different vehicles and weapons.

32 player online multi player is also a pretty great feature.....it's not Battlefield's 64 player game but in all honesty those can get pretty maddening at times. 32 seems like a pretty middle of the road number to me and I think it will satisfy the competitive FPS community.

The CryENGINE 2 engine from Crytek is something that I have been watching since they announced it quite some time ago. This engine looks amazing and it could change FPS environments and physics forever. From what I have seen of thing it's very impressive. This game is absolutely beautiful.

Real time Armor and weapon customization doesn't look like a big deal to me but it could raise the required skill level as you have to react fast during battle to use power enhancements. Always a fan of fighting the button smashing in any way possible so although small this looks like a decent feature.
