2Moons - Overview
As the story goes an exiled king named Rictus let loose the evil minions of the otherworld and their ruler Abaddon into The Immotal Land of Haran with the idea that he might control and use them to aid his efforts in conquering Haran. As to be expected there could be no alliance with the dark ruler Abaddon and Rictus was sealed in the dark abyss from which the accursed had come to die the death of every woman and child and live to die again. The Pitborn (the recently released accursed) flooded Haran and the King Tirus The Grim committed suicide in his hopelessness.
Enter Trieste, The White Lady. Trieste was a prophet, magician, warrior, godchild, and queen of frozen Haihaff. Trieste united all those left to fight andd waged a futile war against the Pitborn (appearently they were greatly outnumbered) and after defeat left in secret. She went to the gates of Pitborn and sealed it closed with her own lifesblood drawing Abaddon back into the Pitborn abyss.
Centuries later the seal is beginning to weaken just as Trieste had predicted and it appears that this is what the players of 2Moons will be battleing. The 2Moons lore has some serious resemblances to the Sword of Truth Series written by Terry Goodkind. The Pitborn equates to the Rift in the Sword of Truth novels and likewise the weakening seal and the escaping monsters were an underlying plot for the entire series. I'm usually not a big fan of backstories or game lore but in this case I liked it quite a bit, that may have something to do with how much I liked the Sword of Truth series.
As I previously stated much of the game resembles L2 in mechanics. The PvP system is almost identicle minus the fact that you get put in jail if you get killed while red (after killing someone who does not fight back, a true PK) and must be bailed out or remain there for an alotted amount of time. There are also castle sieges in 2Moons that look very similar to L2 sieges, it appears there is only one castle in game currently. Read our article on the PvP system for further PvP details.
There are 150 levels in 2Moons and it is said that you can get to around 50 in a couple days of hard play and at about 60 it starts to slow down pretty significantly. Being a Korean port just expect a grindfest.
There are some other neat little systems in the game like the animal ride system and the fishing system. All-in-all 2Moons looks like a decent free title to me, we are going to check it out and as always expect all the findings here. Open beta should go live any day now as the devs stated their Korean team needed is in country and they have closed closed beta.
